7 Days Without Hearing

So I need to share this with you. I don’t have a lot of time so this is a simple short post.

I keep an eye on my hearing, it seems a sensible thing to do for someone in my role and I use a little app on my iPhone called uHear to test my hearing from time to time.

This is my normal pattern, these are the results from a test in Feb.

On Sunday 6th May I suffered a freak accident on stage at church, a load of feedback shot into my in ear monitors and as a result I was deaf in my left ear and in some pain.

I visited A&E that afternoon and they called down the ENT specialist he wasn’t particularly ¬†positive and explained the hearing could return, but probably not fully, or the damage could be permanent. He said there was no way of telling at that stage and referred me for further tests.

I was completely blown away by the amount of people praying for me and for full healing and the numerous prayers and messages of support and encouragement were truly amazing!

The sensation of not hearing correctly is really bizarre and had a bigger impact on everyday things that I could ever imagine. The disorientated feelings and just feeling unbalanced is as bad as not being able to hear people correctly.

Then on Friday 11th May I noticed I had more hearing following a day of “warmth” in the left ear.

Then today Monday 14th I noticed a huge improvement and tested again

WOW! Not only is my hearing fully restored its actually better than before! Full marks in both ears!
